Sean Barnes : Mental Wealth

 My name is Sean Barnes and I am a Service User Representative for the Mental Health Research Innovation Centre hosted by the University of Liverpool and Merseycare. I am assigned to work package 5 on novel neuroimmune medication for early onset Psychoses and the associated science behind it. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree which helps.

I have several other roles including 

Public Advisor for the Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast. I co-producd research here. am 

Patient Representative for the Royal College of Psychiatry - Quality Network Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Psychopharmacology committee.

I talk to inpatients on psychiatric wards on Care Quality Commission inspections 

I participate in history taking for medical students. 

I am on a few research and development groups with an NHS Trust

My career highlight was presenting at conferences in Strasbourg and Copenhagen. 

All this keeps my mind active and I find my work enjoyable and satisfying. 

I have completed a research internship
